Recorded in one bedroom/rarely in garage, but always on the same 8 track. 40GB of hard drive space never seemed so small, until recently when "DISKFULL" keeps popping up on lcd screen. Inspired by people who make themselves like King Creosote, by people who get signed up big and remain cool too. Musically influenced by Neil Young, Elliott Smith, King Creosote, Neutral Milk Hotel, Tom Waits, The Elected, and anyone who uses drum machines and synthesisers with organic instrumentation. I also believe Nemis is good, and I don't see a problem with the mailing list.

 | Mick Hargan and the proposition is Michael Hargan Glaswegian Singer/Songwriter and a multitude of different musicians from different backgrounds that make up the proposition, since the release of his self-released debut album Conversation between Us (2005), has seen Michael invited to open for established acts such as The Frames, Mundy, Bare Naked Ladies, Missy Higgins, Imogen Heap ,Midge Ure as well as playing at some of best venues such as King Tuts (Glasgow), ABC (Glasgow), Glasgow Barrowlands, Edinburgh Queen's Hall, Sin-e (New York), The Living Room (New York), Whelan’s (Dublin), Bush Hall (London), and Glasgow Carling Academy.
In 2007 Michael headlined his own show at the prestigious Celtic Connections at St Andrews in the Square, as well as appearances at Big in Falkirk, In the City, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, The Craic Festival in New York, Merchant City Festival, Castlepoolza in Ireland and the Wickerman Festival.
Michael is currently recording his 2nd self-released album with his band the proposition, with a new single released in June and the album to follow soon with Karl Odlum producing the new album who started as one of the original members of The Frames and went on to produce and appear as a session musicians on maybe know Irish artists such as Mark Geary, Mundy and the frames. One of Michael’s new songs Mercy Me is appearing in Descansos, an independent movie released in USA as well as various film festivals.

Schoolhouse Management

It is best known for artist management, particularly Simple Minds (1978 to 1990), The Silencers (the 1980s and 1990s), China Crisis (the 1980s and 1990s), but also looked after the business affairs of Muriel Gray and Calum Malcolm.

Schoolhouse is inundated on a daily basis with requests for information on the music industry. These requests come primarily from young musicians, with questions involving live work, record deals, information on PRS/MCPS, PPL and MU, where can I get legal advice etc.. Equally, we are also approached by artist managers, community music initiatives, artists' parents, universities and colleges and the media in general.
Bruce is also on the Music Industry Taskforce, advising on the 'New Deal For Musicians'.
This heavy demand on our time has now been rationalised and we now offer consultancy services (subject to Bruce's availability) to all of the above.
