YOUR SOUND TERM 5 # 1 LAUNCHES

Saturday 3rd October 2009
Alec Downie

King Tut’s unsigned bands initiative Your Sound is back for Term 5 on Sunday 4th October!

Taking place in King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut from 5pm – 8pm on the first Sunday of every month, Your Sound has created many opportunities to unsigned bands! These include the Artist of the Month scheme - where a chosen Artist of the Month and two Runners Up have their tunes in the King Tut’s juke box and are featured on the King Tut’s and Your Sound website and MySpace pages - the Your Sound Bandstand at Connect music festival, the Your Sound Showcase at The Edge Festival and the opportunity to appear on the Your Sound CD – sent out to music industry insiders both nationally and internationally!

Artists submit their music, from which Your Sound, King Tut’s and DF Concerts promoter staff select the best tracks to form the soundtrack of the monthly Your Sound event, then the chosen playlist of unsigned and independent tracks are DJ’d in King Tut’s bar throughout the afternoon.

The launch of Term 5 welcomes a special acoustic set from previously playlisted and June’s Artist of the Month Woodenbox with a Fistful of Fivers. After a summer of touring the music festival circuit and releasing their single ‘Hang the Noose’ on King Tut’s Recordings - Your Sound looks forward to catching them next Sunday!

Musicians, artists, professionals working within the music industry, and those of you who just fancy coming along to take it all in.... we invite you to come along and enjoy an afternoon of great unsigned and independent music in a relaxed atmosphere; meet like minded people, mingle, chat, share ideas and experiences, raise awareness of your band or service, and network with fellow musicians and industry people alike - AND it’s completely free!

This month’s playlist features Louise McVey & Cracks in the Concrete / Bad Bad Men / Dirty Modern Hero / Paper Beats Rock / Make This Relate / Ace City Racers / Cancel The Astronauts / Stevie & The Moon / Quickbeam / Action Group / Just Tourist / The Japanese Mafia / The OK Social Club / AD Gallagher / Wilburnsilver / Three Blind Wolves / Come On Gang! / Forward Play / Rags & Feathers and Paper Mountain.
