Colette McKendrick
view releases | Colette McKendrick is a singer/songwriter from Glasgow who began her quest to be a successful musician at the age of eight, when she began learning to play the piano. Much of her work is still piano-based, although she often writes for guitar, and recently, for orchestra.
For those unfamiliar with Colette's work, begin with Philip Glass or Michael Nyman, throw in some Kate Bush or Tori Amos and add the theatrics of The Cure or Cyndi Lauper and you may have an idea. Her powerful voice has broken a few microphones, as has, Laura Healy's, who has been performing backing vocals with Colette since they met in the school playground at the age of four.
Colette's music attracts a diverse crowd, from young teen tearaways who enjoy the occasional swear word, to a more mature audience who relate to Colette's lyrics. Having suffered the loss of her boyfriend to cancer two years ago, Colette's songs take the listener on a rollercoaster of emotions and experiences.
Her range of styles from rock, to pop, to funk, are proving to be irresistible and so she is now pursuing the right publishing deal. |

Bands currently on the label are Belfast trio Desert Hearts, Glasgow's De Rosa, Lanarkshire's Emer and acoustic/electronica collective PAN.
Gargleblast Rehearsals studios (formerly Chem19 rehearsals) are situated in Hamilton, Lanarkshire. The studio has 3 purpose built rooms for hire in 3 hour blocks. Marshall, Peavey and Carlsboro amps are currently available along with Pearl drum kits (please bring your own cymbals) and a full vocal P.A. We use Shure sm58 vocal mics.
Rates are £25 for 3 hour session. £20 weekdays before 6pm. Opening hours are 9am to midnight.

Keser is a Scottish post rock electronica duo comprising of David Reid
(bass) and Kevan Whitley (guitar). Their sound has its roots in
the Glasgow underground guitar music scene of the late 90's where they studied for 4 years and witnessed transcendental bands such as 'Aereogramme', 'Mogwai' and 'Arab Strap' first hand.
Fusing the guitar style of that lauded era with synthesised beats has resulted in a new progressive form of guitar-based
seraphic electronica. Ambient and ethereal sounds elevate subtly, building up into crushing waves and returning back again. The vaporous instrumentals and melodic chimings are only anchored by the electro beats and unconditional ambience throughout. This musical and life metaphorical mentality is evident on every track.
Their debut album 'Esoteric Escape' has captured both their live feel and refined recordings into 12 tracks and diverges into
the realms of post rock melodic electonica, sounds which seem to aptly soundtrack a person's journey..

The band formed mid-2004, via ways and means which are far too complicated to go into here. Let's just say it was more of a collision than a merge.
Kodiak have managed to incorporate a refreshingly diverse range of influences into their own unique brand of rock-a-pop-a-funk-a-soul. Crossing genres like freeways, you may just find a jazz beat or a reggae riff behind that soaring chorus.
Hooky melodies blend into bombastic guitars over funky basslines and driving beats, to create a gloriously hummable and memorable noise.

There's a real spark to Kodiak that you have to hear for yourself - a fusion of influences from each band member create a sound that is as unique as it is accessible. There is no point in listing influences, unless you can imagine Tool, Paul Simon, Stevie Wonder and Bono starting up a band in your garage. So we won't.

In 2007 Michael headlined his own show at the prestigious Celtic Connections at St Andrews in the Square, as well as appearances at Big in Falkirk, In the City, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, The Craic Festival in New York, Merchant City Festival, Castlepoolza in Ireland and the Wickerman Festival.
Michael is currently recording his 2nd self-released album with his band the proposition, with a new single released in June and the album to follow soon with Karl Odlum producing the new album who started as one of the original members of The Frames and went on to produce and appear as a session musicians on maybe know Irish artists such as Mark Geary, Mundy and the frames. One of Michael’s new songs Mercy Me is appearing in Descansos, an independent movie released in USA as well as various film festivals. |

Our main artists are the cool popsters Gum, fronted by the beautiful and enigmatic Leigh Myles. Gum’s music has been described as being ‘so slinky that it could flip-flop down a flight of stairs by itself’.
Their debut album Low-flying Kites was released to favourable reviews in 2003.
It featured a clutch of great tunes and some spooky atmospherics, all brought into focus by some top-notch production.
Their current release is the mini-album 'Seven Feeble Alibis' which sees the Gum project move into altogether more muscular terrritory.
This album is darker and more dynamic than their previous material; the songs are deep and often brooding, but the multi-layered backing vocals lift some of the killer choruses to truly dizzying heights.
Serali’s other signing is The Eisenhowers. This loose collective, based around the songwriting of Raymond Weir, plays adult-oriented pop.
It’s an eclectic mix, with the key influences being: Aimee Mann, Elvis Costello, Jellyfish, Steely Dan, XTC, Jimmy Webb and REM.
